Since 2007, the American Wine Tour Society has been helping discerning guests find the very best in personalized, guided wine tours throughout the United States. Our members are just that: professional wine tour companies with intimate knowledge of the wineries, their owners, their winemakers and their wines, not simply limo and bus services.
Representing members from California, Michigan, Oregon, New York (the Finger Lakes), North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia, we are able to ensure that your wine experience will be intimate, educational, safe and fun.
All of our members have years of experience in all aspects of the wine industry in our respective states. Many of us have actually worked in wineries with the winemakers, pruned and harvested with the vineyard managers and poured wine in the tasting rooms.
Our basic premise is simple: wine tours are about the wine, the scenery, the terroir and the people who make them. If you insist on a limo, or even a limo bus, we can arrange it, but the tours remain about the wine. Every winery has a story, and our members are able to recount them.
Our members' focus remains on providing a guided wine tour; do you really desire a driver who drops you at the winery door and says "See you in an hour"? Wouldn't you rather a genuine guided wine tour, on which the guide escorts you inside the winery and introduces your group to the winemaker, who may well be the winery owner?
